Thursday 18th October at 12:30

In the context of Forum CompraVerde Buy Green, the most important Italian and European event for  public and private policies, projects and initiatives, dedicated to green and sustainable procurement, Susanna Albertini (FVA New Media Research) representative of the European projects BIOWAYS, BIOVOICES and BIOBRIDGES  conducted the seminar Bieconomy and GPP: The role of public administrations in promoting an ecologically and socially sustainable economy, through the purchase of products from renewable sources.

GPP ACADEMY

In order to support the dissemination of Green Public Procurement and of the Minimum Environmental Criteria, the Forum provided a space entirely dedicated to the continuous and free training on sustainable procurement (GPP Academy), which, over the years, has seen the participation of thousands of specialized operators.

A hall hosted sixteen free training sessions during which the best industry experts – indicated by the GPPbest network of the National Coordination Italian Local Agenda 21 and the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and Legambiente – alternate every hour during the two days, on topics such as: eco-labels, sustainable construction, sustainable collective catering, social criteria, circular procurement, assessment of costs along the life cycle, sustainable events, electronic market, verification and controls, GPP monitoring systems and other issues.

Training and updating are at the center of the Forum CompraVerde-BuyGreen to respond to the growing interest due also to legislative changes that, in Italy, make the GPP mandatory.

The GPP Academy provided frontal training sessions and in-depth analysis by appointment on the most important and current topics of the moment.

The training program was developed in the wake of the GPP A to Z initiative, which has represented for years the fundamental contribution of the Green Procurement Working Group of the Italian Local Agenda 21 Coordination Committee to the Forum: 21 different themes for each letter of the alphabet.

The objective of the initiative was to help public administrations, decision makers on the one hand and purchasing managers, on the other, to orient themselves in the world of green purchasing by providing them with moments of concise training on specific topics.
